The family of the late OJ Simpson has turned his ashes into some luxurious personal items, the executor of his state has revealed.
OJ Simpson passed away at the age of 76 on Apr. 10 after a battle with prostate cancer. The controversial former football player and actor revealed in May 2023 via Twitter that he was undergoing chemotherapy to treat cancer.
Simpson’s body was cremated on Apr. 17, and the remains were given to his four children (Jason, Arnelle, Justin and Sydney). The estate of the Pro Football Hall of Famer declined to donate his brain for CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) research.
Malcolm LaVergne, the lawyer and executor of Simpson’s estate, told TMZ Sports that Simpson’s four children turned his remains into jewelry:
“Malcolm LaVergne — O.J.’s longtime lawyer and now executor of his estate — tells TMZ … the Juice’s remains have been transformed into cremation jewelry, which was divvied up among his 4 adult children…
Malcolm didn’t want to say exactly what kind of jewelry pieces the children got — but, typically, it’s necklaces or bracelets with miniature urns as pendants.”
OJ Simpson had Jason and Arnelle with his first wife, Marguerite Whitley. Their third child, a daughter named Aaren, tragically drowned before her second birthday.
While some people want to focus on OJ Simpson the football player, actor and commercial pitchman, there’s simply no looking past the controversies that overshadowed his career accomplishments.
Simpson abused Nicole on several occasions during their marriage which added to the prosecution’s argument of his guilt. He had plenty more legal troubles after his infamous acquittal, spending nine years in prison (2008 to 2017) for armed robbery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
