In a recent social media exchange, Selena Gomez confirmed the cosmetic procedures she has undergone, shedding light on a topic that has often been the subject of public speculation.
The confirmation came through a comment Selena Gomez made on a TikTok video by Marissa the PA, a Florida-based Botox and filler injector. In the video, Marissa had been asked to speculate about the cosmetic procedures Selena might have had. Marissa responded by expressing uncertainty and suggesting that it wasn’t fair to speculate on Selena’s physical changes, attributing them potentially to her autoimmune disorder, lupus, or other factors. Marissa’s comments, made next to a photo of Selena at the 2023 Golden Globes, emphasized a respectful distance from guessing about Selena’s medical or cosmetic history.
Despite the video being posted in April 2023, Selena addressed it in the comments section over the weekend. She wrote, “Honestly, I hate this. I was on steroids because of a flare-up. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.” This comment was a direct response to the speculation about her appearance and a request for privacy.
Marissa followed up with a new video, expressing that she hoped Selena didn’t take her comments personally and reiterating that people shouldn’t have to justify their changing appearances. Marissa clarified, “I agree with you. I do think that we should leave you alone, and I said that in the video.”
In a comment that has since been deleted, Selena reportedly expressed appreciation for Marissa’s understanding, saying, “I love you. Not about you. I just get sad sometimes.”
Selena first touched on her cosmetic procedures last December when a commenter criticized her appearance, suggesting that her cheek fillers might be affecting her. Selena responded with humor, saying, “hahahaha I’ve had Botox bb girl,” clarifying that Botox was the extent of her cosmetic work.
Selena Gomez’s comments reveal her frustration with ongoing scrutiny and her desire for privacy regarding her health and appearance.
