When asked about one act they would never perform, surgeons consistently gave the same response.

There was a common denominator which kept cropping up between the surgeons

If you’re looking for an excuse to take one daring adventure that you are not quite sold on off your bucket list, this might be it – and if anyone asks any questions, you’ve got this squad of surgeons to back you up.

Although we all like to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and face our fears, some things are just best left alone when the risk of injury, or even death, is just too great.

The health practitioners who help piece people back together wholeheartedly agree, as they’ve seen more than enough gruesome war wounds over the years which they don’t want to witness again.

And while administering treatment to patients who have got themselves into some pretty gnarly situations, just know the medics are making a mental note of the circumstances which got them there – so that they can avoid them at all costs.

There’s plenty of ways you can end up in A&E, but there are a string of specific scenarios and activities which frequently tend to leave people needing medical attention.

As you can see, the medics involved with the General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Buffalo have found it hard to forget some of the injuries they have dealt with during their short careers.

The ten participants in the viral video shared to TikTok barely stewed on their answers for more than a few seconds before something sprang to mind, which goes to show how much their patients trauma has impacted them.

When asked what they would ‘never do’ in life as a result of their experiences in the surgical suite, it prompted a few obscure – but still very serious – answers from the medics.

The health practitioners in the clip took the opportunity to warn people to never ingest a foreign body, sit on a pencil, stick a lightbulb up their backside – who on earth is doing that anyway? – or climb up a ladder again.

As well as this, two medics urged viewers to keep their diabetes under control and ensure they are getting enough fibre.

Among the rest of the surgeons, there seemed to be a general consensus that they would avoid one certain daredevil activity like their life depended on it – especially if they aren’t wearing the right gear.

So, sorry to disappoint all those who enjoy riding on two wheels in a load of leather, as it’s riding a motorcycle which was the common denominator among the ten surgeons in the TikTok.

This is obviously down to the large number of patients who have been rushed into hospital after a motorcycle accident, as the aftermath of one really isn’t pretty.

They might look cool as f*ck, but riders are putting themselves at risk of serious injury and even death while taking a spin on a motorbike.

They don’t say it’s you and the open road for nothing – as the reality is, it is literally you smashing into the open road if you end up being thrown off of your bike.

Social media users seemed to be in agreement with the surgeons and flooded the comment section with their thoughts.

One said: “Trauma ICU nurse here. Will avoid motorcycles at all costs.”

Another wrote: “There is no hospital employee that will tell you motorcycles are a good idea.”

A third warned: “After years of working in the ER, I would never ride a motorcycle.”

A fourth commented: “My dad’s a trauma surgeon and I’ve never been on a motorcycle or a horse in my life. The horror stories I’ve heard.”

While a fifth chimed in: “Heavy on helmets and motorcycles.”
