LeBron James had a dream, and the Los Angeles Lakers fulfilled it, as he desired to play in the NBA alongside his son Bronny James who was drafted by the team out of USC. That dream lasted one game, at least for now.
Bronny James, who has a standard contract with the Lakers, will double with the South Bay Lakers of the G League, according to reports. The son of LeBron only played four minutes in his NBA debut, without scoring points.
Now he will be with the Lakers on road games that begin from October 28 to November 6. It will pass through Phoenix, Cleveland, Toronto, Detroit and Memphis, but after this he will share his appearances with the development league.
This is something that people already had in mind, considering he only played a handful of games in college. He can become a huge star, but it will take time, and he needs to develop into a reliable player.
His numbers in preseason already hinted at something like that. And, although in principle his agent Rich Paul told the teams that signing a two-way was not an option prior to the NBA draft, the environment of the Lakers and having LeBron has made the decision easier.
According to sources, LeBron has agreed to these, as there is no secret in the talent Bronny has but he is just not ready to be an impact player in the NBA. Hopefully he can turn into one soon, maybe in time to contribute to the Lakers this season.
