Robert De Niro, 81, brought his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, 45, to the movie premiere of Megalopolis on Monday.
The legendary Taxi Driver actor was still married when he first met Tiffany in 2014 on the set of The Intern, however, they did not begin dating until 2021. Tiffany and Robert announced the arrival of their first child together, Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro in May last year after keeping the pregnancy private.
They keep their relationship lowkey but are sometimes seen at lavish events. This week, the duo looked loved up as they held hands at the Megalopolis premiere. Robert looked suave in grey trousers, a polo shirt and a casual navy blazer. He held onto his girlfriend’s hand as they posed for pictures before walking into the venue.
Tiffany looked gorgeous in a long-sleeved black-and-white dress with a plunging neckline. The tai chi and martial arts instructor accessorised with a mustard-yellow purse and completed her look with black knee-high boots. Inside AMC Lincoln Square in New York City, Robert joined Spike Lee on stage to take part in a 30-minute Q&A session with Megalopolis director Francis Ford Coppola.

The science fiction movie stars Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne and more. It is set in an imaginary version of United States with Adam playing a visionary architect who clashes with the corrupt mayor while trying to rebuild the metropolis of New Rome after a disaster.
During the event, Robert took the opportunity to blast convicted felon Donald Trump in the run-up to the American election. “Just imagine Donald Trump directing this film,” Robert said. “It’ll never go anywhere from total craziness. He cannot do anything. He cannot hold anything together. He wants to destroy the country.
“And he could not do this movie. He could not do anything that has a structure.” Robert then discussed the resemblance between the dystopian world of Megalopolis to what he believes will happen to the USA if reality star Trump becomes successful in the reelection.
“I see the things in Francis’ film about that, the parallels and so on. To me, it’s not over until it’s over, and we have to go at this wholeheartedly to beat the Republicans; those Republicans, they’re not real Republicans and beat Trump. It’s that simple. We cannot have that type of person. Everybody has to get out there and vote,” Robert said.
