New Philadelipha cornerback Cooper DeJean was totally embarrassed in front of his friends and family on Draft Night, as it appeared for a few seconds that he would be a Night 1 selection.
The former Iowa star was thought to be a prospect who could sneak into the first round this year, and he was under the impression that was the case for a moment, only to get egg on his face in front of his entire draft party.
A video shared by G.O.A.T Farm Sports shows the CB receiving a phone call during the first round and expressing his appreciation to someone claiming to be from the Green Bay Packers.
Everyone goes silent in anticipation, then they all burst out laughing when he lets them know it’s a prank.
“It’s a prank, it’s a prank,” he says, “some dude who said he was with the Green Bay Packers.”
He also led the Big Ten in punt return yards over his last two years.
The 21-year-old is expected to get significant playing time in Philly this season.
While he has remarkable radar on the field, he’s not very good at detecting prank callers. We hope he’s at least changed his number.
